The Slingshot is a nice little sport plane that we asked Peter to design for the novice builder. The idea was to have an
inexpensive plane that was simple to build and would provide a flying platform for the aerobatic parkflier.
The build is very simple. Not quite a "tab and slot" type of build, but, very close. It can be assembled without
plans and with only a tabletop, no pins necessary. Covering material can be just about anything, but, Solite or Coverite
Microlite are best to keep weight down.
Flying the Slingshot is easy for anyone with intermediate flying skills. The flat wing with symmetric airfoil makes for
very good aerobatic ability. The plane needs 3 servos, one each for ailerons, elevator and rudder.
Power with a 2s pack is very good for any standard aerobatic maneuver. On 3s it is overpowered yet never gets twitchy.
