INTERMEDIATE LEVEL KIT
A Peter Rake design airplane. Prototype done by Peter Rake.
Ryan's Daughter came from some demand on Peter for a sport plane that could fly in more windy conditions and off of rougher
runways. Pete took the Ryan ST outlines as a guide and came up with this plane.
"RD" is not strictly a scale plane, but, as Pete has done, it can be detailed to look like a Ryan PT-22 with
the five exposed cylinders, or, with a bit of modifying, can be made with an inline type of cowl for the Ryan STA look. You
can use cylinders from one of our plastic engines or build one up with the wood cylinder kits offered below.
The flight characteristics are very solid, suitable for an intermediate pilot, or, with a bit of assistance, could be
a first aileron trainer plane.
The construction is typical of Rake designs with a box front fuselage and framed rear section. A straight fuse is easy
to obtain and is very strong. A roomy fuselage allows easy access to radio gear.
The design power package is the Olympus belt drive and the Sp600 Race motor. Brushless power around 200W would be just
right for this one.
Control is 4 channel. Either 3 or 4 servos are needed depending on if you want wing mounted servos (one for each aileron)
or a central single servo for the ailerons.
