INTERMEDIATE LEVEL KIT
A Frederic Klein design airplane.
The Caudron Aiglon ( baby eagle in french) was one of the popular trainers in France in the mid 30's. Powered with a
Renault Bengali 4 cylinder inverted, which was an interesting engine. Renault made a nice V-8 aircraft engine in WWI that
de Havilland noticed. They bought surplus engines, took the Renault cylinders and made a 4cyl that became the Gypsy engine.
Renault then copied the de Havilland example and made their own 4 cyl engine. The Aiglon taught many pilots of the "aviaton
populace" how to fly. It was also used as record plane with famous french aviatresses.
The model is an all wood design, even the undercariage is made of wood. The fuselage is built around a primary box, with
sheet sides. Tabs and slot construction help in self aligning all the pieces. The plan contains all notes to help the builder.
The Aiglon is a smooth parkflyer capable of cruising around, but also will do mild aerobatics (loops, rolls, wingovers, etc).
She is an agile and precise airplane.
This is a 4 channel airplane with ailerons, rudder, elevator and throttle. You will need 4 micro servos.
