Another Peter Rake plane. 1/9th scale SPAD XIII designed for sp400 power. As with any airplane of this size, numerous brushless
combinations would also work.
The SPAD XIII was the highlight of French fighters in WWI and was the equal of any of the WWI fighters of any country.
The US fighter squadrons were all equipped with the SPAD by the end of WWI.
This model is of note because it retains the scale number of ribs (all 93 of them) that is in the 54" model and in
the full size! Careful building will result in a plane that weights about 20oz, perfect for sp400 power.
The SPAD is also a fairly stable airplane, but, does require differential ailerons to work well. Since the ailerons are
in the wings, that requires either special attention to the aileron linkage or a computer radio.
This plane is also constructed using Peter's trademark box and former style construction for a relatively lightweight build.
The full kit includes the materials necessary to complete the basic kit. No electronics or power are supplied. Details
such as pilot figure, machine guns, rigging, etc are not included.
