INTERMEDIATE LEVEL KIT
A Peter Rake design airplane featured in Flying Scale Models as a free plan issue.
The Strutter was named by the W-shape cabane struts in the center section of the plane. Carried a single forward firing
Vickers and one ring mounted Lewis gun in the back seat. FLown as an observer, fighter and bomber the Strutter in its original
form was a good flying plane, but, was surpassed early on in the war. Replaced by the Pup, Triplane, and Camel, it was relegated
to rear area duties.
Pete's design follows his basic box structure and goes together easily. Wire bending and soldering are required to get
the proper alignment of the cabane structure.
The design power package is the GWS EPS-300C (5.33:1). Control is for 3ch (R/E/T) and flies well on that setup. With
the recommended power the Strutter is capable of mild aerobatics, loops, wingovers, etc. Brushless upgrades will allow more
spirited maneuvers like snap rolls, split-S, etc. The more industrious types could hack in ailerons at their own peril :)
